'Ukrzaliznytsia' will soon present a tariff change concept.
The state company 'Ukrzaliznytsia' will present its concept of tariff changes to business associations and other discussion platforms. Member of the Supervisory Board of 'UZ' Oleksandr Kamyshyn stated that it is inappropriate to discuss a possible increase in tariffs at this Time. He claims that 'Ukrzaliznytsia' should protect and explain the logic of the tariff increase process to the business.
Oleksandr Kamyshyn denies the published information about a possible tariff increase of up to 37% to obtain an additional 26 billion UAH, which was previously announced by MP Yuriy Honcharenko.
He also notes that the financial plan for this year must be approved by the end of the year, just as it has been implemented in the last three years.
A member of the Supervisory Board of 'UZ' explains that the net profit of 'Ukrzaliznytsia' for 2023 is insufficient as it is necessary to make critically important investments.
He also refutes information about a significant increase in cargo volumes through the maritime corridor, which would necessitate an increase or even a decrease in tariffs. Oleksandr Kamyshyn claims that the volume of iron ore transported by rail has decreased by 9%.
He emphasizes that the closure of enterprises and reduction of volumes is a complex process that has consequences. According to him, it is necessary to look at the retrospective and assess several years prior, not just the profit of this year.
Oleksandr Kamyshyn also stresses that restarting the railway after its suspension is a complicated process, as confirmed by the suspension of the city electric train in Kyiv at the beginning of the war.
