Resilience Coaches in Ukraine and Poland

According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's state railway company, Ukrzaliznytsia, is launching special 'Resilience Coaches' to provide shelter for people left without electricity and heating due to Russian attacks. This initiative offers a vital lifeline for Ukrainians suffering from the consequences of targeted infrastructure strikes. Since the start of winter, 360,000 people have already used similar 'resilience points' set up at Ukrainian railway stations.

Currently, 97 Ukrzaliznytsia resilience hubs are operational at stations across Ukraine, having assisted 65,000 citizens during severe cold spells. In the near future, these mobile 'Resilience Coaches' will be deployed to regions including:

  • Kyiv Oblast
  • Kharkiv Oblast
  • Odesa Oblast
  • Lviv Oblast
  • Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Additionally, two 'Resilience Coaches' will be sent to Chelm, Poland, to support Ukrainians facing difficult conditions there.

Updated Schedules and Family Support

To better organize passenger transport and ensure access to the new coaches, Ukrzaliznytsia has updated its train schedules effective January 22. The company has also established dedicated parent-and-child zones at 40 stations, providing additional support for families during the winter cold.

Ukrzaliznytsia's 'Resilience Coach' initiative represents a critical step in supporting civilians enduring the dual hardships of war and winter. In the context of a severe energy crisis, such aid can significantly ease the burden for many. The program's extension into Poland underscores the commitment to assisting Ukrainian refugees who lack essential living conditions.
