Military Registration for Those Born in 2006

According to Novyny.live: Young men born in 2006 must complete their military registration by July 31, 2023. This new requirement means that individuals in this age group need to follow specific procedures to ensure they are properly recorded in Ukraine’s military system.

Available Methods for Registration

There are two ways to register for military service:

  • Visit a local territorial center for recruitment and social support (TCC and SP) in person;
  • Complete the electronic identification process through the 'Reserve+' application.

It is important to note that individuals currently serving a sentence or undergoing compulsory medical treatment are exempt from registration.

If there are valid reasons for a delayed registration—such as illness, natural disasters, or living in occupied territories—young men can explain their circumstances. To complete the registration, the following documents are required:

  • Ukrainian passport;
  • Extract from the territorial community register;
  • Certificate of internally displaced person (if applicable);
  • Birth certificate;
  • Taxpayer identification number;
  • Education certificate;
  • Proof of enrollment in school or employment (if applicable);
  • Four passport-sized photos (35×45 mm) without headwear.

Citizens deemed partially fit for service must undergo a repeat military medical examination (MME) if they receive a summons or referral from the TCC. It is crucial to understand that this registration process is not a mobilization—it is simply a formal step to maintain records of those liable for military service.

This information is especially relevant for young men approaching the deadline and their parents, as timely registration is mandatory.

The introduction of updated military registration rules for young men aligns with the need to strengthen national defense capabilities amid current challenges.

Registering on time is a critical step for young men who may eventually be called to serve in the armed forces, as well as for their parents, who should stay informed about these changes. Such measures could have a significant societal impact, as they directly affect the future of Ukraine’s younger generation.
