UNHCR Initiates Financial Aid Program in Trostianets, Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: Starting January 16, 2026, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) will launch a cash assistance program in the Trostianets community of Sumy Oblast. This initiative is designed to provide crucial support to internally displaced persons, returnees, and refugees facing significant hardship. The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has created immense financial strain for millions, making such targeted aid essential for survival and stability.
The program will provide a monthly payment of 3,600 Ukrainian hryvnias per person for three months, totaling 10,800 hryvnias over the full period. To qualify for this assistance, applicants must meet specific criteria:
- Applicants must be registered as internally displaced persons, returnees, or refugees.
- They must not have received similar financial support from other funds or organizations in the preceding three months.
- Their financial situation is also assessed, with a per-person income threshold not exceeding 6,300 hryvnias.
