UNHCR Announces Registration for 10,800 UAH Aid: Eligibility Criteria

According to Novyny.live: On January 22, 2026, UNHCR Ukraine will begin registering individuals for a cash assistance program, specifically targeting those over 55 years old. The aid will be disbursed as 3,600 UAH per person per month for three months, potentially totaling a maximum of 10,800 UAH per individual for the entire period. This initiative is part of the UN refugee agency's ongoing efforts to support vulnerable groups affected by the war.

To qualify for this assistance, applicants must hold the status of an internally displaced person (IDP) or a refugee. Furthermore, the income per person in the household must not exceed 6,300 UAH. A UNHCR Ukraine mobile team will operate in the Lebedyn community of the Sumy region to facilitate access to this support for those in need.

Financial Assistance Requirements

Citizens must meet specific criteria to receive this financial aid. The key eligibility conditions are:

  • Belonging to one of the specified population categories.
  • Meeting the established income limit.

Applicants must also prepare the necessary documents for pre-registration.

The launch of this UNHCR assistance program is a significant step in supporting the most vulnerable segments of the population impacted by conflict and crisis situations.

This aid is particularly crucial for older individuals, who may face additional hardships amid economic instability. The registration in the Lebedyn community marks the initial phase, which may be expanded to other regions depending on the population's needs.
