According to inkorr.com: On the night of November 11, several explosions were heard in Saratov, as reported by the publication 'Glavcom', citing Exilenova+.
Explosions and Fire at the Plant
Residents of the city reported five explosions in the southwestern part. A fire broke out at the Saratov Oil Refinery, where a significant blaze occurred.
The Saratov Oil Refinery is one of the oldest oil processing plants in Russia. As of 2023, it processed 4.8 million tons of oil. The plant is involved in meeting the needs of the Russian Armed Forces.
Attack by Ukrainian Forces
It should be reminded that on November 3, Ukrainian forces attacked this plant in the Saratov region, resulting in damage and a fire in the area of the Elou AVT-6 oil processing installations.
Also noteworthy is that drones struck oil refineries in Saratov and the Krasnodar region in Russia. Explosions were even heard in temporarily occupied Luhansk on the night of November 3.
These events in Saratov highlight the seriousness of the situation at the oil refinery and other facilities in the city, posing a threat to the lives of local residents. They also indicate a worsening of tensions between Ukraine and Russia, which in turn may have serious consequences for the region.
