The Cabinet of Ministers is looking for funding for a project to increase electricity generation in Chernihiv region
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has announced that the Cabinet of Ministers plans to strengthen electricity generation in the Chernihiv region by 50 MW. This step is important for the implementation of the distributed electricity generation strategy in Ukraine, which began after Russia destroyed large thermal power plants.
Energetics urge citizens to be economical in electricity consumption throughout the day. Currently, on August 9, there are no electricity restrictions. However, it should be noted that it is difficult to predict when the power outage schedule will normalize. It is worth reminding that Ukrainians have been living without electricity for several days already.
In 2024, NAEK Energoatom plans to carry out repairs on two units of nuclear power plants to prepare for the heating season. Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko noted that the situation in the country's energy system is improving, but there should be caution due to the threat of new enemy shelling. DTEK company plans to restore up to 70% of the lost generation by October. Head of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi predicts a reduction in power outages from August to October if there are no new shelling incidents.
