Ukraine Cuts Red Tape on Destroyed Military Equipment: Easier Write-Offs for Soldiers.
Streamlined Procedure for Writing Off Military Assets
According to TSN.ua: The Ukrainian government has simplified the process of writing off destroyed military equipment, allowing service members to focus more on combat missions. This decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers as part of amendments to Resolution No. 759, originally approved on May 29, 1998. The move comes amid ongoing efforts to reduce bureaucratic hurdles that slow down frontline operations.
New Rules and Their Impact
Under the updated regulations, the wear-and-tear level of equipment is now automatically set at 100%. This means soldiers no longer need to prepare a technical condition report, significantly streamlining the write-off procedure. Additionally, the rules clarify the mechanism for cost indexation and regulate the use of the depreciation coefficient for ground-based robotic systems. The value of the equipment is now fixed regardless of its service life, further simplifying the process.
These changes aim to enhance the efficiency of military asset management and optimize the work of military structures in the face of modern challenges. By easing the write-off procedure, the government seeks to remove administrative barriers that previously prevented soldiers from concentrating on their duties at the front.
This initiative is part of Ukraine's broader strategy to improve military governance and adapt to the evolving conditions of war.
Reducing bureaucratic obstacles could help the army respond more quickly to its needs and maintain operational effectiveness. In the context of a prolonged conflict, such adjustments may significantly impact combat readiness and the overall state of the country's armed forces.
