According to Novyny.live: Oleksii Kuleba, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration, has highlighted a critical funding gap for road repairs. While the government has allocated 12.6 billion hryvnias, Kuleba stated this sum is insufficient to address the 21.5 million square meters of roadway in urgent need of repair. This funding shortfall comes at a time when reliable infrastructure is vital for both civilian life and national defense.

The overall state of Ukraine's road network remains dire, with over 23 million square meters of road surface damaged and requiring immediate attention. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko noted that while pothole patching is currently underway, full-scale capital repairs have not yet begun. She stressed the importance of identifying priority routes and securing the funding to fix them:

Kuleba also emphasized the strategic military importance of roads, stating, 'We need to correct a mistake and speak about roads exclusively as an element of military logistics.' Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy pointed out that the difficult post-winter road conditions in the capital, Kyiv, reflect a nationwide crisis in road maintenance.
