UNHCR Opens Registration for Financial Aid to Residents of Okhtyrka Community.
Financial Assistance Program Announced
According to Novyny.live: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced on February 24, 2026, that it is opening registration for a financial aid program for residents of the Okhtyrka community in the Sumy region. This initiative is part of ongoing international support for communities affected by the conflict in Ukraine. The total aid package is 10,800 Ukrainian hryvnias (UAH), with 3,600 UAH allocated per person for a three-month period.
Eligibility Requirements for Assistance
To qualify for this support, applicants must have left dangerous areas within the previous six months or be refugees who returned to their homeland after February 24, 2022. An individual's monthly income must also be within 6,300 UAH. The program specifically targets vulnerable groups, including:
- Single-parent families
- Citizens aged 55 and over
- Persons with disabilities
Registration for the financial aid program is conducted by phone at 063 182 68 38. This program launch provides crucial support to community residents facing hardship.
