UNHCR Announces Monthly Aid of 3,600 UAH for Eligible Residents of Khmelivska Community.
Financial Support for Vulnerable Populations
According to Novyny.live: Residents of the Khmelivska community in Sumy Oblast can apply for financial assistance from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) starting March 5, 2026. This program is designed to provide a monthly payment of 3,600 Ukrainian hryvnias per household member for a period of three months. This aid is part of broader international efforts to support civilians affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine.
The payments are available to individuals who have been internally displaced (IDPs) as well as to Ukrainians who have returned from abroad. To qualify, applicants must meet specific vulnerability criteria, which include:
- Single-parent families;
- Elderly individuals living alone;
- Households with members who have special needs or disabilities.
A key eligibility requirement is that the monthly income per family member must not exceed 6,300 hryvnias.
Those wishing to register for the program can call the provided contact number: 063 182 68 38. In addition to UNHCR, other organizations are also providing aid in the Khmelivska community, including the French humanitarian agency 'Acted' and the charitable organization 'Caritas-Spes Ukraine'. This coordinated initiative aims to deliver urgent financial support to the most vulnerable segments of the population.
Coordinated International Humanitarian Efforts
The UNHCR payment scheme is one component of a larger international response to support populations impacted by conflict and economic hardship. Implementing such programs helps to reduce poverty levels among vulnerable groups in Ukraine and provides essential support for survival under difficult conditions. Crucially, these aid efforts are not solely financial; they involve the integration of multiple humanitarian organizations, enabling a more effective and comprehensive response to the population's needs.
