Tragedy in Dental Clinic

According to TSN.ua: The Uzhgorod police are investigating the death of a 12-year-old girl who died after being anesthetized in a dental clinic. The child was taken to the hospital in a state of unconsciousness from a private dental office and remained in intensive care for nine days, but unfortunately, she passed away on January 14.

In connection with this incident, the police of the Transcarpathian region have initiated an investigation. A forensic medical examination has been appointed to establish the cause of death. During the investigation, a search was carried out at the dental clinic, during which medical documentation was seized. The police have also interviewed medical staff, witnesses, and bystanders of the event.

Qualification of the Event

The event is classified under part 1 of article 115 and part 2 of article 140 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. It is known that the girl experienced an anaphylactic shock after anesthesia was administered.

This tragic incident underscores the importance of adhering to medical standards during anesthesia, particularly in children whose bodies may be more sensitive to medications. The police investigation and the forensic medical examination aim to ensure accountability for any violations in the provision of medical services and to prevent similar incidents in the future.
