A new strange ban on women has been introduced in Afghanistan.
The leader of the 'Taliban', Haibatullah Akhundzada, issued a decree banning women from being visible through the windows of their homes. According to the article, buildings whose windows face the kitchens where women may be present must be covered by a fence of human height.
The situation with restrictions on women in Afghanistan is escalating. In October, the 'Taliban' banned women from communicating with each other in public places starting from August 2024. This will negatively impact the medical care of the entire population of the country, as this ban applies even to women doctors and nurses, who cannot speak with male relatives.
Previously, women were also banned from reading the Quran aloud and praying in the presence of other women, according to a decision by the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice of Afghanistan.
In August 2024, a law was passed banning women from speaking in public places and showing their faces in public. All of this is done as part of the 'fight against vice and prevention of the violation of virtue.'
