After the shelling of Kyiv: electricity restored to 648 thousand families

According to ТСН: After a massive shelling of Kyiv, electricity supply has been restored for 648 thousand families.

According to DTEK, another 60 thousand households in Kyiv received electricity today.

Current situation with electricity supply

On the Left Bank, as well as in part of Pechersk and Holosiivskyi districts, emergency shutdowns are still in effect.

“In the other part of the Right Bank, a shutdown schedule is in effect,” DTEK noted.

Although electricity supply has been restored, the situation remains difficult. Low air temperatures create additional stress on the system.

“Currently, work is ongoing to eliminate local emergencies caused by network overloads and frosts,” DTEK added.

Causes of problems with electricity supply

The mass use of heaters is leading to the overload of available lines, which causes partial electricity outages.

It is reminded that as a result of a large-scale Russian strike on January 9, Kyiv faced serious issues with electricity, heating, and water. Many areas were left without light and heating, and there were problems with the operation of electric transport.

As of the morning of January 10, energy workers have restored electricity supply for 588 thousand families who were left without light the day before. Repair crews are working around the clock to completely eliminate the consequences.

In light of these events, it is important to understand that the energy system of the country is under significant pressure due to weather conditions and military actions. Energy workers continue to take measures to restore supply stability, but the need for heaters in homes significantly complicates the situation. At the same time, residents must be prepared for possible outages and follow the recommendations of services to reduce the load on the power grid.
