Trams and Trolleybuses Return to Odesa Starting April 1: Here Are the Routes That Will Resume Service.
Transport Comes Back
According to Novyny.live: After a long pause, Odesa will restart tram and trolleybus operations on April 1. The service will resume with limited numbers of vehicles and a reduced set of routes, allowing public transit to gradually return to normal.
Fleet Preparation
Currently, the following tram routes are scheduled to operate:
- No. 5
- No. 15
- No. 28
Trolleybuses will resume on these routes:
- No. 3
- No. 8
- No. 9
- No. 12
This will let city residents use electric transit to get around. At the same time, social buses S1, S3, and S4 will provide connections between different districts of Odesa. The S1 route is especially important—it links the Railway Station with 28th Brigade Street.
Bus Services
The last departures for social buses occur around 7:00 PM to 7:40 PM. These buses cover some of the same ground as tram routes, including:
- No. 5
- No. 10
- No. 15
- No. 17
- No. 26
- No. 27
Social routes that mirror trolleybus services include:
- No. 3
- No. 8
- No. 9
- No. 10k
- No. 12
This gives residents more options for comfortable travel. Additionally, Odesa plans a major road renovation in 2026, signaling efforts to improve city infrastructure and deliver higher-quality public transit service in the future.
Bringing public transport back online in Odesa marks a key step in reviving urban life after a lengthy shutdown caused by external circumstances. It will restore access to a convenient and affordable way to move around the city, boosting overall mobility and quality of life. The planned road repairs in 2026 could further enhance transport efficiency, reduce traffic jams, and positively impact the region's environmental conditions.
