Only 30% of Trams and Trolleybuses Back on the Streets as Odesa Restarts Electric Transit.
Odesa’s Electric Public Transport Resumes Operations
According to Novyny.live: Starting March 30, Odesa has resumed electric public transport services in a trial phase. Currently, roughly 30% of all trams and trolleybuses are operating on their routes. Vehicles arrive every 20 to 40 minutes, giving residents a renewed option for getting around the city.
Active Tram and Trolleybus Routes
The following tram lines have been restored:
- No. 5
- No. 7
- No. 10
- No. 11
- No. 12
- No. 15
- No. 17
- No. 21
- No. 28
Trolleybuses have also returned to service on these lines:
- No. 3
- No. 7
- No. 9
- No. 10
- No. 12
Additionally, free social buses are running on several routes, including:
- S1
- S3
- S4
- No. 18k
- No. 27
- No. 8
A single ride on electric transport costs 15 hryvnias. Meanwhile, fares for minibuses remain unchanged: 20 hryvnias within the city and 40 hryvnias to the 6th kilometer of Ovidiopolska Road. These changes aim to keep residents mobile and improve access to public transit as services gradually come back online.
Restarting Odesa’s electric transit network marks a significant step toward strengthening the city’s transportation infrastructure, especially at a time when reliable public transport is essential for all residents. Although only a limited number of routes are active now, this trial period could lay the groundwork for future expansion and improvements to the electric transit system.
