A Tolvinsky Alley Appeared in Odesa - Where Exactly.
In Odesa, Levanevsky Dead End has received a new name - Tolvinsky Alley. This decision was made by the city council to honor the outstanding architect whose work has long left its mark on the history of the city.
Mykola Tolvinsky was born in 1857 in Warsaw, but it was in Odesa that he made the greatest contribution to the development of the city. Working in the city administration, he created many landmark buildings that became true adornments of Odesa. Among them are the hospital on Kuyalnik, university buildings, and judicial institutions.
From now on, Levanevsky Dead End is called Tolvinsky Alley. This name belongs to the architect who was at the forefront of many outstanding projects in the city of Odesa. He was the creator of many historical buildings that transformed the city and added uniqueness to it.
Tolvinsky also designed the faculties' buildings of Odesa University, as well as the court and administration buildings that adorn the Railway Station Square. His work remains an important component of the architectural heritage of the city of Odesa.
