A Unique Shell Labyrinth Opened in Odesa Region: Record Details.
According to inkorr.com: In the village of Molodizhne in Odesa region, a unique labyrinth made of rapana shells has been opened, which received the record of Ukraine as 'The First Labyrinth Made of Rapana Shells'. This was reported by the head of the National Register of Records of Ukraine Lana Vetrova.
Description of the Labyrinth
The labyrinth is located in the family recreation park 'New Vasyuki'. The total length of the partitions is nearly half a kilometer — 486 linear meters. The thickness of the walls is 25 cm, and the total area of the labyrinth is 911.3 sq. m. More than 134 tons of shells, collected from coastal areas where they were washed ashore by storms, were used in its creation. The shells were cleaned in the sun, dried, and aired for several years.
Recognition and Significance
The owner of the eco-park, Vasyl Voloshynov, noted that this long and painstaking process required great patience, but the result was undoubtedly worth the costs. The labyrinth has become not only a tourist attraction but also an important record location in Ukraine. Lana Vetrova confirmed the achievement and included the site in the register, emphasizing its uniqueness and scale.
The labyrinth in the village of Molodizhne is now not only a pride of the region but also attracts the attention of tourists eager to enjoy this unusual place.
