Zhytomyr implements strict electricity savings due to attacks by the Russian Federation on energy infrastructure.
According to ТСН: In Zhytomyr, due to attacks by Russia on energy infrastructure, strict restrictions on electricity consumption are being introduced for residents, businesses, and organizations.
This decision was made by the Zhytomyr City Council.
“The decision of the local commission on questions of TEB and NS: to limit electricity consumption — for the residents of Zhytomyr, enterprises, institutions, and organizations of all forms of ownership.”
Street lighting in Zhytomyr will switch to a savings mode at night due to recent strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. This decision was approved at an extraordinary meeting of the local commission on technogenic and ecological safety and emergency situations.
Changes in the lighting mode of streets, roads, and parks of the Zhytomyr community will begin on December 11. Until the situation stabilizes, lighting will operate in a reduced mode after 10:00 PM.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko held a meeting of the energy headquarters to monitor the situation in the energy sector. She emphasized the importance of optimizing electricity consumption and the full-scale launch of distributed generation facilities to cover the deficit. It is expected that thanks to these measures, the duration of outages will decrease over the weekend.
Such restrictions will help reduce the load on the energy system, which has become especially relevant in difficult conditions. The local council calls on residents to understand the new measures and save electricity to ensure stability in the energy sector.
