From November 1, 2025, a new military ID card will be introduced in Ukraine: what will change.
According to inkorr.com: A new military document – an ID card – is being introduced in Ukraine, which combines several functions in one electronic medium. This decision is aimed at simplifying the accounting of military personnel, making it more effective and secure. The ID card will become mandatory for military personnel from November 1, 2025.
Military personnel will be able to continue using previous documents until they receive the new card, to avoid difficulties in their official activities. The processing of ID card applications will take up to 5 days, and their issuance will be handled by the personnel services of military units or appropriate authorities.
Who needs an ID card:
- when joining basic military service or mobilization;
- when signing a contract or entering military educational institutions;
- if the card was not previously issued.
The card will contain a qualified electronic signature, a pass for access to military units, and a key for accessing the information systems of the Ministry of Defense. The card will be valid for 10 years, and in case of loss, military personnel must take measures for its recovery. New documents will be issued personally against a signature, while old ones will be destroyed.
Starting from November 2025, military personnel of the Armed Forces and the State Special Transport Service will receive a new military accounting document – the ID card. This step will contribute to increasing the efficiency and security of military accounting, as the card combines several key functions, simplifying and facilitating the service process for soldiers.
The introduction of the ID card is an important step in the modernization of military accounting, as it not only simplifies procedures but also meets modern digitalization requirements in the defense sector. This decision aims to provide greater convenience for military personnel and enhance the level of security in information management.
