Bread prices in Ukraine are set to rise - how much will it cost.
Bread prices in Ukraine may increase due to the rise in fuel prices. According to forecasts, a loaf of bread could cost around 55 hryvnias.
Expert Predictions
The chief consultant of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, Ivan Us, confirmed this information during an interview on Den.LIVE on August 11.
Us noted that even with the stabilization of the currency exchange rate, food prices may decrease slightly, but the rise in fuel prices will still affect the cost of bread in Ukraine.
'Regarding the internal situation in Ukraine, we understand that our wheat, our production capacities for flour - these are ours. It is clear that the fuel factor affects. The rise in fuel prices may drive the increase in bread prices. Therefore, this price increase will happen, but it will not be significantly felt'
The expert also emphasized that there could be cases of rising bread prices due to damage to bakeries from shelling, but overall, a major price spike is not anticipated.
In July, there were already warnings about a 25% increase in bread prices in stores, as well as predictions of a decrease in vegetable prices by the end of summer.
Some food industry experts predict that bread prices may rise due to the increased cost of fuel, but significant price jumps are currently not expected. Despite internal factors such as the stability of flour production, the rise in fuel prices may affect the prices of bread, but not very noticeably.Read also
