According to TSN.ua: A teacher at the Kyiv Engineering Lyceum resigned on March 10 after publicly humiliating a student who had dropped his belongings. The incident unfolded during a break in a 10th-grade class, when the educator grabbed the student by the head and mimicked wiping her shoes on him. The behavior sparked outrage among students and parents, quickly drawing the attention of school administrators.
Oleksandr Kovtunov, head of the Darnytskyi District State Administration, confirmed that the teacher submitted a resignation letter.
“Based on the submitted application, an order was issued to terminate the employee's employment by mutual agreement under Article 36, Clause 1 of the Labor Code of Ukraine,” Kovtunov stated.The student is reported to be in satisfactory condition and continues to attend classes at the lyceum.

By March 13, the matter had been resolved, with both sides expressing no further grievances. Legal assessment of the incident will be carried out by the relevant authorities within the National Police.
“As of March 13, the incident involving participants in the educational process has been resolved,” Kovtunov emphasized.Notably, no cases of teacher misconduct were recorded in the district during 2026.
The teacher’s resignation and the ongoing legal review underscore efforts by officials to prevent similar situations in the future.
