US Presidential Election: First Results Begin to Arrive After Polls Close.
First Announcement of US Election Results
Since the beginning of voting in the US presidential election, the first results from polling stations have been arriving.
At the moment, according to the forecast of Voice of America, the Republican Party candidate Donald Trump is winning in some states, including Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, and Arkansas.
Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party candidate, has won in states such as Vermont, Maryland, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Delaware, Illinois, and New Jersey.
It is worth noting that the US presidential elections are conducted through the Electoral College, not by direct popular vote. Each state has a certain number of votes that it gives to electors based on population size. Typically, most states award their votes to the electors of the candidate who won the popular vote in that state. To win, at least 270 Electoral College votes out of a total of 538 are required.
Currently, Donald Trump has secured 101 elector votes, while Kamala Harris has 71 votes.
Several states with a large number of elector votes, such as California (55) and Texas (38), are still voting.
Seven states predicted to influence the final election result include Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. In these states, the competition between candidates has been the most intense.
