Explosion of the oil pipeline in the Saratov region: damage to a key artery for the Russian army.
According to inkorr.com: On the night of September 7-8, a powerful explosion occurred on the main oil pipeline in the Krasnoarmeysky district of the Saratov region of Russia. The incident was reported by the publication 'Glavcom', citing 'Unian'.
Local residents reported that rescuers were working at the explosion site the next morning, trying to eliminate the consequences of the event. This is already the third oil and gas infrastructure facility in Russia that has been affected in the last 24 hours.
Impact on the pipeline
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, the explosion halted the operation of the 'Kuybyshev-Lysychansk' pipeline, which supplied petroleum products for the Russian occupation army. This facility had an annual capacity of up to 82 million tons.
Situation in Penza
On September 8, a series of explosions in Penza led to the suspension of the main oil pipeline system operations. The fourth facility in the Railway district caused the halting of two pipelines of the main gas pipeline.
Around noon, the Ukrainian defense forces struck Russian oil refineries and export facilities, which may influence global oil refining profits in the US. Ukrainian strikes slowed down operations at facilities that account for at least 17% of Russia's oil refining capacities.
The explosions on the oil pipelines in the Saratov region and in Penza inflicted significant damage to the oil and gas infrastructure, leading to the halt of large volumes of petroleum product transportation.
These events indicate increasing tensions in the region, where the infrastructure is exposed to serious threats, and the consequences may be felt not only in Russia but also in the international oil market. Monitoring the further development of the situation is extremely important, as it may affect the economic situation in the region and global energy markets.
