Exploding Device Halts Savage Dog Attack

According to TSN.ua: In Cascavel, Brazil, a man named Reinvaldo survived an assault by two aggressive dogs when his mobile phone's battery exploded in his pocket. The incident occurred in early February 2026, when Reinvaldo, an auto mechanic, was targeted by the animals. Forced to defend himself, he faced a direct lunge at his throat. Reinvaldo recounted:

"I hit him, but then he tried to bite my leg. Instead, he only got the phone in my pocket."

Aftermath of the Incident

During the struggle, the battery in Reinvaldo's smartphone—which he had owned for roughly 20 days—detonated. The explosion ignited his shorts and left burns on his leg. Reinvaldo noted:

"It was dangerous, but it saved me. It was strange."
Although he reported the event to police afterward, Reinvaldo did not file a formal complaint against the dogs' owner. This case highlights the real dangers people can face from uncontrolled pets in urban areas. Incidents involving aggressive dogs are a recurring concern in many cities worldwide, underscoring the need for responsible pet ownership.

The event also stresses the importance of public safety in areas where aggressive animals may be present. Dog owners are responsible for their pets' behavior, and attacks can have severe consequences for both victims and the animals involved. Despite his injuries, Reinvaldo chose not to press charges, a decision that may reflect a desire to avoid further conflict but also raises questions about the necessity for better animal control in community settings.
