Explosion in downtown Oslo: police investigate the incident
According to inkorr.com: In the capital of Norway, Oslo, the police have launched an investigation into the explosion that occurred in the very center of the city. During the inspection, another explosive device was found, which was neutralized using a controlled explosion. One suspect has already been detained for questioning.
Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries as a result of the explosion. The incident took place near the university campus, the royal palace, and the Israeli embassy. Local authorities sent emergency alerts to residents' mobile phones warning of a potential danger.
According to police officer Brian Skotnes, the second device found is a hand grenade of 'military type'. He also mentioned that the police are searching for other individuals involved in the incident.
Brian Skotnes also clarified that the main theory of the police is that 'the criminals are planning an action against other criminals,' while not excluding other possible scenarios. The officer reassured that the area is safe. Media reports have indicated the arrest of a 13-year-old teenager, but Skotnes did not comment on his age.
Thus, the situation in downtown Oslo is currently under control, and the police continue the investigation to ensure the safety of residents and prevent further incidents. Authorities urge all residents to remain cautious and to follow official announcements.
