From treatment to housing: Shmyhal named five directions of veteran policy.
Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, explained what the country's veteran policy will be like. During the Veterans Forum, he emphasized that the government is already implementing a new veteran policy, which was defined a year ago. This policy is focused on five directions.
The first direction is the development of service infrastructure for veterans. This includes the introduction of new services, digitization of veteran services, integration of registers, simplification of procedures, and expansion of "one-stop shops" for veterans in TSNAPs.
The second direction is creating conditions for the economic activity of veterans, in particular employment or starting their own business. Veterans can get a new profession or improve their skills through the State Employment Service's Vocational Training Centers and with the help of training vouchers. There is also support for starting their own business through the єРобота program.
The third direction is ensuring treatment and rehabilitation of veterans. The state must ensure the physical and psychological recovery of servicemen. It is planned to create modern rehabilitation centers for veterans in all regions of the country.
The fourth direction is affordable housing for veterans. The government provides monetary compensation for the purchase of housing for veterans. There is also the єОселя program, which provides loans at 7% for 20 years with a minimal down payment.
The fifth direction is honoring the heroism of Ukrainian soldiers. One of the projects is the creation of a National Military Memorial Cemetery. The program also involves rethinking and expanding the culture of honoring heroes' graves.
Ukraine has already launched a support program for veterans and their families.
