Volodymyr Kravchuk on His Military Service: What Was the Most Challenging for the Actor.
According to ТСН: Famous Ukrainian actor Volodymyr Kravchuk, who starred in the film 'You Are Cosmos', shared his military experience and the difficulties he had to face.
Acting Service and Military Experience
At the beginning of the full-scale war, Volodymyr decided to defend Ukraine. Initially, he served as a machine gunner, and later transitioned to working as a military correspondent, which he still does. The actor explains that despite serving in a combat unit, he hardly has any time for acting, which presents a real challenge.
'Currently, I am a special correspondent for Army TV. Unfortunately, the conditions of service, although I am no longer in a combat unit... In this period, I have only performed in the theater twice: once this year and once last year. It is very difficult to manage service conditions with time off. It is hard to combine,' shares the actor.
Difficulties of Separation from Family
Volodymyr admits that the hardest part for him during his service was being far away from his family. He misses his wife and cannot witness the growth of their son. It is especially tough when his wife sends voice messages from their child asking when dad will come home.
'The hardest part while I was in the military was not being with my family. This was the most difficult aspect of my service. You don’t see your son; he sends voice messages about how he misses me, touching moments when he asks when we will see each other again. I defended the country, but it was very hard to combine the love for my son and the desire to be with him with the desire to protect the country and be with my brothers in arms,' says the artist.
Volodymyr also confesses that he even asked his wife to send fewer such messages, as they emotionally drained him and made it harder to continue his service.
Currently, Volodymyr Kravchuk continues to fulfill his important role as a military correspondent, leaving his acting career in the background. His story highlights how crucial family support is during such challenging times, as well as how difficult it is to balance serving the Motherland and being with loved ones.
