Sending an international contingent to Ukraine. Zelensky speaks of 'serious decisions'.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the results of the 'Ramstein' meeting. He noted that the British are positively inclined towards the initiative to send an international military contingent to Ukraine.
According to him, such an initiative could provide security guarantees for Ukraine. However, the president emphasized that one contingent is not enough. He plans to discuss this issue with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during his visit to Ukraine.
Zelensky mentioned that for Ukraine, not only European security guarantees are important, but also combined guarantees from the USA and Europe. Joining NATO is the strongest security guarantee, but it is necessary to have the support of the USA and European partners on this path.
Security guarantees are joining NATO. But on the way to NATO, one must have security guarantees from both the USA and European colleagues
The president also met with the Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni. It is noted that he has meetings planned with high-ranking officials of Italy, including President Sergio Mattarella.
The meetings will be dedicated to discussing defense support, an international conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine, coordination of efforts to achieve peace, and Euro-Atlantic integration.
