Postponement for Caring for a Relative: Even if They Have Other Relatives.
Postponement from Mobilization for Caring for Relatives
According to Novyny.live: In Ukraine, general mobilization continues, and there is a possibility to obtain a postponement from mobilization for caring for a close relative, even if they have other family members. This issue has become relevant under martial law, when many people face difficulties in providing care for their loved ones.
Many conscripts are entitled to a postponement for caring for relatives. In particular, cases where a father has a lifelong first-group disability can become grounds for such a postponement. It is important to note that the presence of other relatives who could provide assistance is not an obstacle to obtaining a postponement.
Rules for Obtaining a Postponement
According to paragraph 9 of part one of article 23 of the Law of Ukraine 'On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization', obtaining a postponement is possible provided that there is a need for constant care. Yuriy Ayvazyan, an expert in this field, states:
“The main criterion is the need for constant care, as well as the presence of an act confirming the provision of such care, in accordance with Appendix 8 to KMU Resolution №560.” - Yuriy Ayvazyan
Therefore, in the conditions of general mobilization, Ukrainians can exercise their right to a postponement for caring for relatives, which confirms the importance of social support in difficult times. This decision aims to ensure an adequate level of care for people with special needs and also to lessen the burden on conscripts who must balance between their duties to the country and to their families during wartime.
