Traffic Jams at the Border with Moldova: Movement Paralyzed Near Palanka

On the morning of August 3, the main road in Bessarabia was congested with cars, complicating movement. Long lines formed before the border crossings to Moldova and Romania. The most significant traffic jams were observed approaching the village of Palanka, where movement was paralyzed even on the Ukrainian territory.

This information could be found on the Google Maps mapping web service.

Congestion on the Roads to Moldova

In the direction of Moldova, the lines began even at the entrance to the village of Mayaki and before the bridge leading to the 'Palanka - Mayaki - Udobne' checkpoint. The jams were not only in front of the customs but also on the transit section of Moldovan territory. The journey to Palanka may be delayed by several hours.

Situation in Southern Odesa Region

In the southern part of the region, along the M-15 road, traffic jams were observed within Sarata, Zora, Tatarbunar, Kyrnychok, and Sapyany. However, these pressures were not critical and did not significantly affect the speed of movement. Currently, there are no queues at the ferry checkpoint in Orlivka.

At the 'Reni' checkpoint, there were also no queues at the border. However, there was a traffic jam approaching the city, marked in orange, indicating reduced movement speed.

As a reminder, we previously discussed how to obtain permission to cross the transit road in the village of Palanka and avoid getting stuck. We also reported what documents need to be kept on hand at the border with Moldova.
