Romania Neutralized a Russian Drone at Its Borders
According to inkorr.com: The Romanian Air Force successfully intercepted a Russian drone in its airspace. Two F-16s were deployed to monitor the situation near the Ukrainian border due to Russian attacks on infrastructure along the Danube River.
The pilots detected the drone in Romanian airspace and escorted it a certain distance to the southwest of Chilia Veche. As noted by representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the drone did not pose a threat to the population, as it did not fly over populated areas.
The Ministry urged citizens to follow safety recommendations provided in the RO-ALERT message and to calmly respond to the situation. It is also worth recalling that Romania and Poland had previously declared an air alert due to the threat of Russian drones in their border areas.
As a result of the actions taken by the Romanian military, the Russian drone was destroyed. The situation remains tense, as the activity of Russian drones near European borders raises significant concerns and prompts increased security measures.
This event highlights the growing risks faced by European countries in the context of the conflict. Strengthening security measures in border areas is an important step to ensure stability and protect citizens. Cooperation between Romania and other neighboring countries also remains a key aspect of countering potential threats from Russian drones.
