Higher Bonus Payments for Decorated Soldiers: 2026 Allowance Rates Revealed.
Government Allowances for Military Personnel and Their Families
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian service members who have received state honors are entitled to monthly bonuses. Additionally, the families of fallen soldiers qualify for financial support. These payments are designed to provide social safety nets for those who risk their lives defending the nation.
The amount of each bonus depends on the type of award and is tied to the minimum wage, which is set at 8,647 UAH in 2026. For instance, recipients of the Hero of Ukraine and the 'Gold Star' Order receive 25,941 UAH per month. Those awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky across all three classes get 17,294 UAH. Service members with the 'For Courage' Order (three classes) receive 8,647 UAH, the same amount given to holders of the Order of Princess Olga (three classes). The Presidential award 'Cross of Military Merit' provides a bonus of 12,970.50 UAH.
Compensation for Families of Fallen Defenders
For relatives of deceased soldiers, the monthly payment also stands at 12,970.50 UAH. Eligible recipients include the spouse, parents, and children of the fallen. Through these allowances, the state aims to support both active defenders and the families they leave behind. Such initiatives promote social equity and recognize the heroism of Ukrainian troops.
Given the ongoing armed conflict in Ukraine, state assistance for military personnel and their families carries special weight. These financial benefits not only offer essential aid but also underscore society's acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by soldiers. It is crucial that these programs continue and expand, as social justice and backing for frontline heroes remain vital for the nation as a whole.
