Military man insulted his mother-in-law: what punishment did the court impose for domestic violence.
The military man insulted and humiliated his mother-in-law for a year. The woman sought help from law enforcement, and a case was opened against the serviceman, which was heard in the Teplodar City Court.
The military driver-mechanic committed domestic violence against his mother-in-law for a year. He did not hold back from insults, screamed at her, and did not let her sleep at night. The woman could not hold back and turned to law enforcement. In court, the defendant repented and apologized, and the victim confirmed that the accused started to behave better.
What the court decided
The defendant was found guilty under Article 126-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (domestic violence). For his actions, the military man received 2 years of probation supervision.
We remind that recently we wrote about a serviceman who was imprisoned for possession of ammunition. And also about a soldier who beat a civilian.
In the current case, the military was found guilty of domestic violence against his mother-in-law and received a conditional sentence. Despite the defendant's remorse and apologies, the court imposed probation supervision for 2 years. This indicates a serious attitude towards domestic violence cases in Ukraine.
