Commemorating the defenders
Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives have been taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Vitaliy Kadishyuk.
Junior Sergeant Vitaliy Kadishyuk, with the call sign Ghost, died on March 30, 2025, in the area of the settlement of Kamianka in the Kharkiv region during the evacuation of the wounded. A drone hit the vehicle that the warrior was using to evacuate his injured comrades from the battlefield. This was reported by 'Hlavkom', referencing the Chernivtsi City Council.
Vitaliy Kadishyuk was born on April 9, 2001, in the village of Stavchany, Chernivtsi region. After graduating from school, he joined the army for mandatory service. Returning home in December 2021, he re-enlisted to defend the Motherland within two months. He served as a technician-driver in the Third Border Detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine Colonel Yevheniy Pikusa. He underwent training in Great Britain and had the call sign Ghost.
Since March 13, 2022, Vitaliy Kadishyuk went to eastern Ukraine with his unit and performed tasks in the hottest spots of the front. He constantly conducted combat sorties and delivered essentials to the forward positions. During one of the missions, the armored vehicle he was driving hit a mine, but thanks to his decisive actions, it was possible to save his comrades and the vehicle.
Tragically, Vitaliy Kadishyuk died on March 30, 2025, in the area of the settlement of Kamianka in the Kharkiv region while going to help his wounded comrades. He was buried in his native village of Stavchany, not reaching his 24th birthday.
