Veterans and families of the deceased will receive payments for Independence Day: who and how much.
In 2025, individuals including war veterans, Ukrainians with disabilities, families of deceased servicemen, and other citizens will receive one-time cash assistance for Ukraine's Independence Day. The payments will be calculated differently.

Pensioners eligible for financial support for Independence Day, will receive their payment in August along with their pension, as reported by the Pension Fund of Ukraine. Citizens who are on active duty, will receive money through their military unit after submitting an application to the Pension Fund.
Individuals who are neither pensioners nor active military personnel, will receive assistance after submitting a corresponding application. This can be done in person at the Pension Fund service center or the CNAP, by sending a letter to the territorial office of the Pension Fund, or online via the Pension Fund's electronic services web portal with a signature.
The amount of one-time assistance will range from 450 to 3,100 hryvnias.

In August, vulnerable categories of Ukrainians will be able to apply for multi-purpose cash assistance from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. Financial support will be provided to residents of Mykolaiv provided that the income per person in the family does not exceed 5,400 hryvnias and the family has not received any other financial assistance in the last three months.
The amount of assistance is 3,600 hryvnias for three months for each family member.
It was also previously reported that residents of five regions of Ukraine may receive financial assistance from the Estonian Refugee Council in case they have suffered from armed aggression by the Russian Federation. The award for Ukraine's Independence Day will be received by war veterans, Ukrainians with disabilities, families of deceased servicemen, as well as other citizens. All these categories will receive financial support in the form of a one-time payment.
