The government increases payments for foster families: amounts announced until 2028.
According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, financial support is increasing for families raising orphaned children. The Cabinet of Ministers has made a decision to gradually raise payments for foster parents and educators in family-type children's homes until 2028. This information was disclosed by the people's deputy .
Change in payments for foster parents
The new plan includes a significant increase in payments. For foster parents, the average amount per parent will be:
in 2026 – 16,240.64 UAH;
in 2027 – 16,992.16 UAH;
in 2028 – 17,894.96 UAH.
Change in payments for educators
For educators in family-type children's homes, an even greater increase is provided. Their payments per educator will be:
in 2026 – 52,782.08 UAH;
in 2027 – 55,224.52 UAH;
in 2028 – 58,158.62 UAH.
Olexiy Honcharenko noted that this government decision is an important step in supporting vulnerable groups of the population.
“These are not just numbers, but real help for families that give children a chance for a full life,” the MP said in his Telegram channel.
Payments for children under guardianship
In addition, payments for children under guardianship are currently in effect in Ukraine. Currently, they amount to:
for children under 6 years – 6,407.5 UAH (2.5 living wages for this age category);
for children over 6 years – 7,990 UAH (2.5 living wages).
According to the Ministry of Social Policy, the government intends to further improve support for families raising orphaned children by implementing various training and psychological assistance programs for educators.
This increase in payments is an important initiative aimed at improving the living conditions of orphaned children and creating a favorable environment for their upbringing. The Ministry of Social Policy plans to continue developing support programs, providing new opportunities for all participants in this process. It is essential that various programs help not only financially but also emotionally, as children require special attention and care.
