Agricultural production fell by 14%: reasons for the sharp decline.
Agricultural production in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: According to data for the first nine months of 2025, agricultural production volumes in Ukraine decreased by 14% compared to the same period in 2024. The agricultural production index stands at 86.0% compared to last year. The decline was noted in both sectors: crop production fell by 6.4%, while livestock production decreased by 4.4%.
In Ukraine, there are regions where positive dynamics in livestock production are observed, but the largest losses were recorded in the southern and eastern regions, which have been affected by the conflict in the east of the country.
This decline, according to experts, is caused by a number of factors, including delays in sowing and harvesting, as well as the difficult situation in the east and south of Ukraine, which significantly affects the agricultural sector of the country.
By the end of the second quarter of 2025, there are 82,900 agricultural companies in Ukraine. The largest number of agricultural companies is registered in Kyiv - 11,900 (14.3% of the total number).
The volume of agricultural production for the first nine months of 2025 decreased by 14%. The main reasons for this decline are delays in sowing and harvesting, as well as poor conditions in the east and south of the country. Although some regions show positive trends in livestock production, the overall situation remains challenging, especially in areas affected by the conflict.
This news highlights the serious challenges facing Ukraine's agricultural sector, especially in the context of armed conflict. The decline in production is caused not only by external factors but also by internal difficulties such as delays in field processing. The situation requires a comprehensive approach to support farmers and restore the agricultural economy.
