The elimination of the consequences of a major fire at the Shahid Rajaei port in Iran is ongoing. According to the Iranian Minister of Interior, the number of injured currently stands at around 750 people. Eight people died, and another 750 were injured. Some of the injured received medical assistance on-site, while others were transported to local hospitals.
The fire broke out in the cargo port and engulfed cargo containers. The causes of the explosion have not yet been established, so an investigation into the incident is underway. Local authorities suggest that the cause may have been the poor quality of the cargo containers.
Explosion at the Bandar Abbas port
It is also worth mentioning that recently there was a strong explosion at the Bandar Abbas port in Iran, which led to significant destruction and damage to buildings within a radius of several kilometers. The causes of this incident are still unknown, but one theory points to the possibility of an explosion near a military base of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. In the past, Iran had expressed the possibility of reaching an interim nuclear agreement with the United States, but so far, this initiative has not gained support from Washington. The situation in Iran remains tense and requires the attention of the international community.
