Oksana plans to take the plunge on January 19th, expressing hope that the tradition will endure.

"On the nineteenth, we'll probably still go for a swim in the sea," said Oksana.

Dmytro also observes the feast on January 19th, adhering to long-standing family customs.

"We celebrate on the nineteenth. We are conservatives of the old views," stated Dmytro.

In contrast, Andriy celebrates Epiphany on January 6th, emphasizing his personal choice. "On the sixth of January. This year I didn't swim because we weren't in Odesa. But I once took a dip at the Svyatohirska Lavra in Donetsk region," he shared, recounting his experience. This highlights how personal preference can shape one's traditions.

Vitaliy, however, does not celebrate Epiphany at all, citing safety concerns. "I don't celebrate it at all. Of course, it's good, but it's dangerous. The upside is that you harden your body, but not everyone knows how to do it correctly," he noted. He believes winter fishing is a preferable activity to simply diving into the water, underscoring the importance of safety during these winter rituals.
