Ermak's influence on Zelensky worries Western partners, - Bloomberg.
Ukraine is in the third year of a full-scale war. Recently, the world's attention is increasingly focused on the head of the President's Office, Andriy Ermak, who is considered the closest associate of Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to a Bloomberg article, Ermak's influence in the Ukrainian military hierarchy is growing, and this causes admiration and concern among Ukraine's international partners.
The reflection of Ermak's status will be the June Peace Summit in Switzerland. In the group photo of world leaders, the chief Ukrainian official was in the very center, next to Zelensky. This indicates Ermak's significant role in the Ukrainian government, even greater than that of US Vice President Kamala Harris and the future head of NATO.
"I do not participate in every issue, I only coordinate," Ermak said in an interview with Bloomberg.
He also noted that Zelensky is interested in his opinion because he strives to achieve results.
However, Ermak's growing influence worries some of Ukraine's international partners. They are concerned about the concentration of many powers in the hands of a former film producer who has direct influence on foreign policy and military planning.
Zelensky denies the criticism of Ermak and calls him a "strong manager."
"He does what I tell him," Zelensky emphasized.
However, bringing Ermak to the forefront has led to the resignation of other officials, raising concerns about efforts in reforms and anti-corruption.
Nevertheless, experts believe that Ermak has broad powers and plays a central role in military decisions and negotiations. Zelensky trusts Ermak and regards him as capable of quickly solving problems.
"He is a very strong personality. Everything he has, he achieved on his own. No one helped him. And I can say the same about myself," Ermak says of Zelensky.
As Ukraine continues fighting for its independence, the roles of Zelensky and Ermak remain crucial for the country's future.
