IDPs and Residents of Frontline Regions: Ukrainians' Payments and Aid for War Victims to Be Changed.
The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine announced significant changes in the provision of assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs). Instead of universal payments, it is planned to introduce targeted support that takes into account the specific needs of each displaced family.
Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Oksana Zholnovych reported this in an interview with Ukrinform.
"We are now working on introducing a more universal basic social assistance. Assistance for IDPs remains, we will continue it for vulnerable categories, for elderly people, for people with disabilities, for those with low income," the minister explained.
Meanwhile, a Register of persons affected by Russian aggression is being created for further compensation of damages.
"We really want every person to eventually receive compensation for their losses, including moral ones, caused by Russian aggression," Zholnovych emphasized.
Additionally, the Ministry of Social Policy is actively developing a network of mobile social services for settlements where maintaining stationary institutions is impossible. This is especially relevant for frontline and remote regions of Ukraine.
"But it is possible to ensure the departure of a mobile brigade. In this case, it is necessary to purchase a vehicle and engage specialists. This year, we are providing a subsidy for the purchase of such vehicles for mobile groups," Zholnovych explained.
These mobile brigades will be able to provide essential social services directly on-site in remote settlements, ensuring access to support for residents where maintaining stationary institutions is impossible. The ministry plans to expand the practice of mobile social services throughout Ukraine, with a particular focus on frontline areas.
