Ukraine to Raise Minimum Child Support Payments Starting July 1, 2026.
Updated Minimum Child Support Amounts in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: Starting July 1, 2026, Ukraine will enforce new minimum child support amounts, which apply to payments for the maintenance of children. Support payments begin immediately after one parent stops providing for the child. This change aims to ensure children receive adequate financial resources for their development.
Minimum Support Amounts
Under the new rules, minimum child support payments will be set at:
- 1,408 hryvnias for children under 6 years old;
- 1,756 hryvnias for children aged 6 to 18.
The recommended amount of support will equal 100% of the subsistence minimum for a child of the relevant age, which will be:
- 2,817 hryvnias for children under 6;
- 3,512 hryvnias for children aged 6 to 18.
Additionally, support can be deducted as a share of the parent's income. Specifically:
- One-quarter of income for one child;
- One-third of income for two children;
- One-half of income for three or more children.
These changes are designed to create a fairer approach to financial support for children in cases of divorce or parental separation.
It is worth noting that in 2026, state payments for temporary guardians will range from 7,042 to 12,292 hryvnias. These measures are intended to improve children's living conditions and meet their needs in various situations.
The introduction of new minimum child support amounts marks a significant step in reforming Ukraine's child social protection system. It will help create a more stable financial environment for children facing difficult life circumstances. The changes are also meant to encourage parents to take greater responsibility for their financial obligations toward their children.
