Increase in teachers' salaries in Ukraine

According to Novyny.live: Starting from January 1, 2026, teachers' salaries in Ukraine will increase by 30%. This decision was made in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated December 26, 2025, No. 1749, which establishes new rates according to the Unified Tariff Scale for educational employees.

According to the new conditions, the salary of the 1st tariff category in 2026 will be 3,490 hryvnias. Additionally, the minimum salaries for teachers without categories will increase to 6,351.8 hryvnias, for the second category — to 7,398.8 hryvnias, for the first category — to 7,922.3 hryvnias, and for the higher category — to 8,445.8 hryvnias. Furthermore, according to the resolution, all teachers' salaries will increase by 40%.

New minimum salaries

The minimum salaries for teachers, considering the new 40% increase, will be as follows:

  • for the 10-11 tariff category — 8,841-9,570.40 hryvnias;
  • for the 12 tariff category — 10,298.40 hryvnias;
  • for the 13 tariff category — 11,027.80 hryvnias;
  • for the 14 tariff category — 11,755.80 hryvnias.

Additionally, educators working in unfavorable conditions will receive an extra payment of 2,000 hryvnias per month, while those working in frontline communities will receive 4,000 hryvnias per month. Thus, the new measures aim to improve the material support for teachers in Ukraine, taking into account the current needs and challenges faced by the country's education system.

The increase in teachers' salaries in Ukraine reflects the government's efforts to support the education sector, which has faced significant challenges due to economic and social changes. This decision may contribute to attracting new professionals to the job, as well as increasing the motivation of current teachers, which is an important factor in improving the quality of education in the country. In the context of war and instability, supporting educators is extremely relevant, and the new allowances for those working in difficult conditions can significantly ease their work and life.
