From 2026, Ukraine will introduce unified tickets for all transport: what will change.
According to inkorr.com: The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine has approved new rules for a unified ticket format, which will come into effect on January 1, 2026. This will affect all types of public transport: urban and suburban buses, intercity and international routes, as well as trams, trolleybuses, and the metro.

- trams and trolleybuses;
- metro.
Tickets, both paper and electronic, must contain key information: cost, registration number, date and time of travel, carrier details, as well as insurance information.
Details on ticket usage for different types of transport
For urban and suburban buses, passengers will receive an electronic ticket via smartphone, QR code, email, or mobile app. Suburban routes will also provide receipts for luggage if large items need to be transported.
For intercity buses, the ticket must include complete route information, and on international routes, it must be named and personalized.
The electronic ticket for electric transport will become mandatory. It will be possible to use a QR code, mobile app, email, or a personal account.
The initiative of the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine aims to simplify the process of purchasing and using tickets across various types of transport, making travel more comfortable and efficient.
The new rules are an important step towards updating the public transport system in Ukraine. It is expected that they will enhance convenience and safety in travel, as well as reduce queues for ticket purchases, saving passengers' time.
