Winter electricity tariffs: how to save up to 50% with a night meter.
According to inkorr.com: With the arrival of winter, Ukrainians are looking for ways to reduce their electricity costs. The main tariff currently stands at 4.32 UAH per kilowatt-hour, but there is a possibility to save by using two-zone or three-zone meters. This was reported by the publication
"Socportal".
Types of meters in Ukraine
The cost of electricity depends on the type of installed meter:
Standard tariff: 4.32 UAH/kWh, valid for all consumers until the end of October, with no plans for an increase.
Two-zone meter: the night tariff (11:00 PM–7:00 AM) is twice as cheap – 2.16 UAH/kWh, while the day tariff remains at the base rate.
Three-zone meter: the night tariff is even lower (1.73 UAH/kWh), but peak hours (8:00 AM–11:00 AM and 8:00 PM–10:00 PM) cost 6.48 UAH/kWh, while off-peak hours are at the standard rate.
Benefits for electricity payments
Some categories of the population can
receive benefitsfrom 25% to 100%. Among them are people with disabilities, combat veterans, pensioners in rural areas, and large families with low income (less than 4240 UAH per person). For example, large families can reduce their expenses by half. Documents for benefit registration should be submitted to social protection agencies or electricity suppliers.
