Rules for using water meters
According to ТСН: The water meter must work properly, so sealing it is a mandatory element. The seal certifies that the device has not been damaged and that no one has interfered with its operation. This is important evidence of the correct use of the water meter.
In case of interference with the seal, the consumer may face a fine: from 1,700 to 3,400 UAH for individuals and from 8,500 to 17,000 UAH for legal entities.
The amount of the fine depends on the circumstances under which the seal was broken - accidentally or intentionally.
If the seal is removed accidentally, it is necessary to immediately contact the water utility, document the meter readings, and submit the appropriate application.
After checking, the water utility will install a new seal and draw up a report confirming the device's integrity.
