Mykhailo Karyukov died on July 9, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission in the Pokrovsk direction. This information was disseminated by the Rivne City Council on the 'Glavkom' portal.
Mykhailo Viktorovych Karyukov was born in Rivne on November 30, 1986. He studied at various schools and graduated from the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.
After his studies, he worked in the police, engaged in entrepreneurship, and worked for a security firm. In November 2022, he was mobilized to the National Guard of Ukraine.
'Mykhailo dreamed of joining the peacekeeping forces. He was very well-read and interested in everything,' says Mykhailo's father, Viktor Karyukov.
Mykhailo's body was identified in September 2025 after a prolonged search and DNA testing.
The defender was survived by his father, mother, and son. He was buried at the Heroes' Alley of the 'Nove' cemetery following a farewell at Independence Square in Rivne.
The 'Glavkom' portal joins everyone who honors the memory of those killed in the war, lighting candles and bowing their heads during the nationwide moment of silence.
Every day, Ukrainians honor the memory of those lost in the war, including Mykhailo Karyukov. His dreams, skills, and significant contribution to the defense of the Motherland remain in the hearts of his relatives and friends.
