Unsatisfactory Effectiveness of Protective Structures

According to TSN.ua: The head of the All-Ukrainian Energy Assembly, Ivan Plachkov, stated that the protective structures for Ukraine's energy infrastructure are not sufficiently effective against missile strikes. He emphasized the importance of air defense, noting that existing protective facilities, particularly the so-called 'turtles,' cannot provide adequate protection against modern threats such as hypersonic missiles like the 'Kinzhal.'

The Situation in Kyiv's Energy System

The situation in Kyiv's energy system remains extremely difficult due to a combination of hostile attacks and low temperatures, complicating the operations of energy companies. In light of such challenges, the Ministry of Energy does not provide forecasts regarding restoration and connection of electricity, raising concerns among the population.

Plachkov notes that it is impossible to build reliable structures that would protect energy facilities from missiles or 'Kinzhal.' He emphasizes the need to focus on developing an air defense system rather than constructing concrete shelters that do not meet modern challenges.

“The lack of effective protection mechanisms for energy infrastructure during military operations threatens the stability of energy supply for the population.” - Ivan Plachkov

Ivan Plachkov's statement underscores the critical situation in Ukraine's energy sector, especially in the context of the growing threat posed by modern weaponry. Further development and strengthening of air defense may become key factors in ensuring the country's energy security.
