A forest fire began in Los Angeles County on January 7. Meteorologists believe that the cause of the rapid spread of the fire was dry and windy weather. The total area of the fires exceeded 16,000 hectares.

The fires have destroyed more than 12,300 buildings, including properties of notable individuals such as Hunter Biden, the son of the US President, actress and model Paris Hilton, actor and director Mel Gibson, and others.

According to the latest data, 25 people died during the fires. The economic losses from the destruction by fire in Los Angeles County exceed 250 billion dollars. Elected President Donald Trump compared the fires in California to a nuclear explosion.

A 'Marshall Plan' is also being developed in the US for the reconstruction of Los Angeles after the fires. The California authorities are working on a new plan to revive the city.
